Chris Naylor
Chris has always had an interest in all animals. This was greatly fostered when he spent his formative years in Sierra Leone, West Africa. There, he developed a particular interest and love of all things reptilian! Scaring his parents half to death by bringing home snakes (mainly ball pythons), that he had found in the area around their home. Once back in Canada, Chris continued to keep different species of reptiles and amphibians. In the early 1990`s Chris was hired on at a reptile specialty shop in Mississauga. It was at this time that Chris obtained a great deal of experience and hands on work with many different species of herps. It was also an excellent opportunity to develop business connections and friendships within the reptile community. Chris went on to work for a reptile wholesale company, which again furthered his knowledge of herps as well as the way the reptile industry operates.

Jenny Kovats
Jenny is a Registered Veterinary Technician. Jenny spent many years working in Toronto at the Emergency Veterinary Hospital, as well as at the Toronto Referral Clinic. As someone who had risen to the top of her field, it was a real risk for Jenny to leave her profession to start this venture. But, we’re glad she did! Jenny’s medical background is an invaluable part of The Reptile Wrangler Pet Shop. She has always had a love for all animals, and has a special place in her heart for chameleons.

When the decision to open a reptile specific pet shop was made, next a location was needed. Chris and Jenny, also looking to the future of having a family together, decided to leave the downtown Toronto life behind. After much research and discussion, Barrie seemed like the logical and best choice. Since opening The Reptile Wrangler Pet Shop, Chris and Jenny have started that family and have become active in the Barrie community. They are extremely thankful to a wonderful city, which has embraced their business, and provided them with a fantastic community in which to live.

The invaluable staff of The Reptile Wrangler have all been selected based on their experience and knowledge of herps that is required to make the shop a top notch reptile specialty store. All of the staff currently keep multiple species of reptiles, and in many cases are also reptile breeders. The experiences and hands on knowledge they all possess are an asset to helping all of The Reptile Wrangler Pet Shop’s clients with any reptile questions they may have.
